Thembid.com Makes Companies Do the Work
Thembid.com is a website that allows you to post a job and receive bids on the work. For example, if you need SEO (or construction) work done you can create a posting with the details. Then companies will bid on your project and you choose the one you like best. But, it isn’t just for jobs; you can put up an ad for goods, such as a car you’d like to have, as well.
The idea behind Thembid.com is to reduce the amount of time people spend looking for businesses to do a job. It also offers some feedback about the companies so that you aren’t left guessing which one is right for your needs.
The initial sign-up for both businesses and consumers is free. However, there is a premium account option for businesses that want more out of the system. With the premium account you get a more detailed profile that includes your logo, description and a website link. You’ll also have bolded listing and post specials as well as being able to accept Paypal or Google Checkout payments if you upgrade.
The system is pretty simple and fairly user-friendly. As a consumer you enter a request description with all the information necessary for local businesses to bid on your job. Then you’ll put your post into a category and confirm the location of the work. That’s pretty much it until you choose a bidder.
As a bidder you will receive an email when someone creates a post in your category and area. Once you receive the email you can either bid on the project, request more information or ignore it. Consumers are also notified when anything happens regarding their post, such as a question or bid. When he or she is ready, the consumer awards the job to the company of choice. After all the work is done the consumer leaves feedback, which helps future posters with their decision-making process.
Thembid.com has already had over 345,465 unique visitors to the site since launching in April of 2007. A creation of ATL Innovations, Inc., Thembid.com has continuously worked to add new features such as a classifieds section, forums and RSS feeds to inspire and increase usability.
