Niche Your Way To Success

One of the keys to internet marketing is the niche. What is a niche? A nice could be defined either as a situation or activity specially suited to a person’s interest, abilities, or nature or a niche often refers to a special area of demand for a product or service.
Most internet marketers focus on their special product, ability, or interest promoting themselves or their product features without clear definition of how it fits into the competitive landscape both offline and online. Quite honestly, it is often easier for a unbiased outsider to quickly assess a product and service against a set of known competitors. A quick SWOT (Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats) Assessment should be quickly performed and used for messaging that tries to rise above the noise.
While this exercise can be done quickly and easily, it often takes more time to define the niche markets for your product or service. And then once identified, you have to decide the best way to market to this market niche. Have you identified a demographic niche, a product feature differentiator, an complimentary product, or a completely new brand?
Always be on the lookout for ways to define your target markets into more granularity. Track both industry and your competition communications looking for a unique message to present to the market. Look at your clients problems and find ways to solve them not using your own products. What type of innovation is your competition creating? These are great questions to ask and answers to ponder when you are looking for your next niche.
